The Rain Forest Ecology course showcased at the 2022 ETH Innovendum in Learning and Teaching Fair.

The Rainforest Ecology course offers an engaging learning experience through its active learning approach, as well as a unique transdisciplinary perspective, with contributions from researchers and practitioners from tropical regions who participate through video-link. Additionally, the course places emphasis on the ethical considerations involved in representing people within tropical ecological research.

The Rain Forest Ecology course was chosen to be one of the 44 courses showcased at the event. Fritz Kleinschroth, who is the course coordinator and lecturer at the Ecosystem Management group, explained the highlights of the course:

"The Rainforest Ecology course offers an engaging learning experience through its active learning approach, as well as a unique transdisciplinary perspective, with contributions from researchers and practitioners from tropical regions who participate through video-link. Additionally, the course places emphasis on the ethical considerations involved in representing people within tropical ecological research."

ETH Zurich holds an annual Innovendum Learning and Teaching Fair aimed at fostering the advancement of quality education within the institution. This event provides an opportunity for lecturers at ETH Zurich to share their innovative teaching projects and ideas with each other.
